Will you stand with us?
More than 85% of young adults with disabilities hope to work following graduation from high school
In 2018, the employment-population ratio—the proportion of the population that is employed— was 19.1 percent among those with a disability, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In contrast, the employment-population ratio for those without a disability was 65.9 percent.
At Koinonia, we’re working hard to change that!
We believe that jobs open doors – to community participation, confidence, and financial independence. Our Employment Services team offers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the pathway to community employment by utilizing individualized planning combined with our comprehensive curriculum.
Through a diverse range of supported employment services, we empower people with IDD to realize their career and community-integration goals. Our person-centered approach includes job exploration, resume prep, interview skills, job shadowing, and internship opportunities.
Founded in 1974, Koinonia is a leading not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization in Northeast Ohio that provides residential, day program and career services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
